The Novos Baianos (a.k.a. Novos Baianos) were a late 60s and 70s Brazilian group known for putting Brazilian music (as Samba, Frevo and Choro) inside the Rock aesthetic. Acabou Chorare, arguably their most important album and a landmark in Brazilian pop music, is perhaps one of the finest examples of Brazilian Samba-Rock music. They were originally based in Bahia and later, in 1971, moved to Rio de Janeiro. The group disbanded in 1978.
